God & Me, God & Us – Part 2

Exodus 25:8-9

The tabernacle God told Moses to build was a replica of the one in Heaven and God told him, “I will meet you there.”

God changed tabernacles but the pattern never changed.

The 1st aspect of approaching the presence of God. There is only one door into the presence of God.  Jesus is that door.

There is a process to His presence that we need to be clean.  Jesus is the sanctification.  Jesus is the sacrifice.

Religion says I’ll make my own way to God.

How do we come into His presence?

God is a spirit we must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Psalm 100

  1. The 1st requirement of entering into the presence of God is the right attitude.  The attitude that God is looking for is a joyful heart.  Singing changes your attitude.
  2. Enter in with a thankful heart.
    Job 36:29
    Psalm 81:8
    Psalm 95:2
    Psalm 98:4
    An attitude that produces gratitude.
  3. Gratitude that pours out in thanksgiving.
    Jeremiah 33:8
    We bring with us a sacrifice of praise.   Only children of God can praise God.

Prayer Revival – Fasting

The only hope for our country is for the church to return to prayer and fasting and seeking the face of God.

Our purpose of fasting is to save our nation.

In Hebrew “fast” means to cover the mouth.

In Greek “fast” means abstaining from food.

Acts 13:2-3

Fasting is linked with prayer.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

Warfare with the flesh.

The Bible View of the Body

Psalm 139:13-14 We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

  1.  We were made by God. The Creator reserves his special creation for Himself.
  2.  We were made for God.  1 Corinthians 6:19  We were made by Him and for Him, for a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.

Your body was made for redemption.  Romans 12:1

Present your body as a living sacrifice.  Present your BEST to God.

It determines your appropriation of God’s will.

2 Corinthians 5:10

God will judge us based upon what we’ve done in our bodies, both good or bad.

The determination of your future has to do with what you do with your body.

Philippians 3:18-19, 10-11

There is a sacrifice in following after Jesus.

Focus on Heavenly things instead of earthly things.

1 Corinthians 9:27

Discipline our bodies – in natural and spiritual.

Isaiah 55:2

Colossians 3:2

Romans 12:1

Stuck

Genesis 12:1-4 and Genesis 11:31

STUCK

Self-Absorbed
Tomorrow
Unwilling to return to God
Comfortable staying sick
Kept Looking Backwards

Never say “Things will never change.”

With faith in God anything can change.

Put your strength in helping others.

Lifting others up brings strength to you.

Re-identify yourself as a person of faith.

Believe Him for things that are impossible.

How do you break free from the stuck place?

Abraham got free:

  1. Because there was a death.
  2. There was a separation. Genesis 13:5, Haggai 2:3-5
    There will be times that you are going to need courage.
  3. You must break free of the fear of starting.  Break free –>  Clean House.

Continued from this morning.

6.  Principles

Those six things must be a part of your new start.

There is nothing else to do but to pave a new way.

2 Main things to Do to Yourself

  1. Redefine Yourself.  We get stuck in what we were and refuse to become what we could be.
  2. Reboot Yourself.  We need a time of healing in our lives.

Isaiah 40:31

PURPOSE

  1. A purpose that’s compelling.  Challenging you.
  2. A purpose that has a reason to follow through.
  3. A purpose that you revive in your life daily.

2 Things to do

  1. A fire in you.
  2. The difference between the push and pull. The purpose will pull you through.

PRIORITIES

What to let go of and what to hold on to.

POWER

  1.  Receive power through knowledge – study the Word of God.
  2. The anointing of God – The Holy Spirit.
  3. By your company – those around you will either empower you or drain you.

PERSISTENCE 

Don’t quit!

POSSESSIONS

What possesses me and what do I possess?

PRINCIPLES

Make a survey of your principles in life.  Set new principles for yourself.
